Shipping Info

I get a lot of emails asking if I am still in business or if there is anything the customer needs to do before sending in work.
If you have specific questions, please email me ahead of time.
If you are only looking for the standard services as described on my services page, there is usually no need to contact me prior to sending in your parts.
Please print out a Service Order Form for each barrel you send in.
If you are sending multiple barrels, please print a form for EACH barrel and make a note on the form as to which barrel the form applies to.
Please include full details of what you want done on the service order form.
This is very important as it may be days or weeks between the last time we communicated about your job.
I deal with dozens of jobs a week and I can't remember what each individual person was asking about.
Putting it all in writing is the most reliable way to ensure you get exactly what you want.

As for actual packaging and shipping, I recommend coating the barrel in oil and then wrapping it in newspaper.
Do NOT directly wrap a barrel in plastic as the package gets very cold when the package travels via airplane.
When the package lands and warms up, moisture will condense on the steel and cause the barrel to rust before I receive it.
Wadded up newspaper or bubble wrap is the best padding around the barrel.
Please do not use styrofoam packing peanuts as they collapse in shipping.
I use and recommend USPS priority mail boxes.
My shipping address is a mailbox service and will accept USPS, Fedex, UPS and any other common shipping company.
My shipping address is NOT my actual workshop address.
If you would like to make an appointment to visit my workshop, please contact me.
